Turn Up the Heat: Introducing Hot Mat Pilates

Things are heating up in the studio… and we’re not mad about it.

Our Hot Mat Pilates classes are here — a spicy addition designed to challenge your body in a whole new way. Think all the burn of a strong mat Pilates class, combined with the added intensity (and benefits) of a heated room.

So… what’s all the hype about?

What is Hot Mat Pilates?
Hot Mat Pilates is performed in a room heated to around 30–35°C. The class focuses on controlled, low-impact movements that target strength, stability, and endurance — just like traditional mat Pilates — but the heat adds an extra layer of intensity.
You’ll move, pulse, hold, and flow… and yes, you’ll sweat.

Why the heat?
The warmth isn’t just there to make you glow (although, you will).
Training in a heated environment can:

  • Support joint mobility — muscles tend to feel more supple, allowing for deeper, more fluid movement
  • Enhance flexibility — helping you safely explore a greater range of motion
  • Increase circulation — getting blood flowing and muscles working more efficiently
  • Build endurance — your body works harder to regulate temperature, adding an extra challenge
  • Encourage a deeper mind-body connection — you’ll need to stay focused, controlled, and present

Let’s talk about the sweat
You will sweat — a lot. That’s part of the experience.
To get the most out of your class:

  • Hydrate well throughout the day before your class, not just 10 minutes before you arrive
  • Bring a water bottle and take breaks when you need
  • Listen to your body — rest is always an option

This isn’t about pushing through discomfort — it’s about working with your body in a new environment.

Who is it (not) for?
Hot Mat Pilates isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay.
This class may not be suitable if you are:

  • Pregnant (prenatal clients)
  • Sensitive to heat
  • Managing blood pressure, cardiovascular conditions, or diabetes
  • Recovering from illness or dehydration

If you have any medical conditions or are unsure whether exercising in a heated room is right for you, it’s best to check with your health professional before attending — and you’re always welcome to chat to me before booking in.

What to expect
Expect a strong, full-body mat Pilates workout that challenges your control, stability, and stamina — with that signature Pilates burn.
Expect to feel accomplished.
Expect to feel energised.
And expect to walk out thinking… wow, that was spicy.

Hot Mat Pilates is your chance to step outside your comfort zone, turn up the intensity, and experience mat Pilates in a completely new way.
And don’t worry — the vibes are still very much there… just with a little extra heat.
